Dogs in the Workplace: Brit & Co San Francisco
Today's "Dogs in the Workplace" interview features Brit & Co- an amazing San Francisco company dedicated to creative living, DIY projects, and hand-picked lifestlye products for our modern world. They are also, of course, very dog friendly and allow staff to bring dogs to their beautiful San Francisco loft-style office. The dogs, in turn, get spoiled and learn how to make crafts and develop really great Pinterest boards. More importantly, they bring a sense of calmness and productivity to the office, which everyone benefits from. I interviewed Aaron of Brit & Co about the benefits of having dogs in their workplace. Aaron's dog Porter is one of seven dogs I met at the Brit & Co office (that might just put them at the top of the 'dog friendly businesses in san francisco' list!)
JF: What does your dog contribute to your company? Brit + Co: I think Porter keeps our workplace very friendly and relaxed.
JF: What do you feel are the benefits of having a 'mascot' at work? Brit + Co: Having Porter at work brings perspective to what I'm working on and keeps me grounded. It's hard to have a bad day with him around. It's also great that having him at work forces me to take a short walk a couple of times a day.
JF: What is the mission of your company? Does your dog support/add to that mission? Brit + Co: In short it is to enable people to live more simple and creative lives. Porter doesn't directly contribute, but I think the positivity he brings is definately an asset.
JF: Do your dogs have any daily tasks they perform during the work day? Brit + Co: Porter greets all our vistitors, and attends meetings with me. Above: Some Brit and Co dogs hard at work monitoring productivity.

The dogs of Brit and Co certainly do not lack unconditional love, attention, or play time while at work. See below.
