CHIHUAHUA ATTACK!//BAY AREA'S BEST DOG PHOTOGRAPHER JESSE FREIDIN

Ok- so, it's not every day that you find yourself in the middle of a swarm of 3 billion Chihuahuas. I was outnumbered, over-powered, overwhelmed by cuteness and tiny doggie Holiday sweaters. It was a truly magical experience.

Where in the heck was I, you ask? The annual SF Chihuahua Meet Up Holiday Party, of course. Those guys sure know how to have a good time- I think at least 99% of all dogs were in an outfit of some sort, many of them matching their owners or their sibling dog's outfit, they had great snacks (I love me a good snack), accordian players, and Mr and Mrs Santa even stopped by to spread good tidings. It was really a lot of fun, and proceeds from their silent auction went to help Chihuahua rescue efforts.

SIR WALTER//FINE ART DOG PHOTOGRAPHER JESSE FREIDIN

I love photographing small dogs, especially Dachshunds, because their personalities and mannerisms are squeezed so tightly into such a small amount of space. They are like frozen juice concentrate- so much intensity in a tiny package. Walter is a great example of this. He is regal, beautiful, and walks with an air of hugeness that truly hits you right in the chest. Really, Walter? You're so tiny and gentle, but have no idea that you are a 'small dog.' How could that be?? He had me laughing through our entire session. The little pitter-patter of his feet scurrying ahead of us kept a sensation of excitement present, yet when he jumped up on his favorite foot stool, or lounged with his mom by the pool, he puffed his chest and held his head high. Like he was king of the house. It was beautiful, and the images below are some of my favorites from our session.
