Here's a sneak-peek at my newest fine art hunting photography series, focusing on the contemporary American hunter and their gun dogs. This is a topic that is so incredibly inspiring to me- the intimacy between hunter, working dog, and wildlife. The meditative intention behind a true heritage hunter, and how they allow themselves to fully escape into nature alongside their canine assistant. It's such a beautiful relationship, and this series is the first of it's kind. I'm loading the Hasselblad with Kodak and Fuji medium format color films for these sessions, which, in a way, brings me ever closer to the experience of the moment. Rod and Bailey (shown below) write an incredibly thoughtful blog on hunting, bird dogs, and Vizslas that I highly suggest you check out:

This series will be travelling around the country in 2012/2013, and we hope to begin exhibiting soon.
