I love photographing small dogs, especially Dachshunds, because their personalities and mannerisms are squeezed so tightly into such a small amount of space. They are like frozen juice concentrate- so much intensity in a tiny package. Walter is a great example of this. He is regal, beautiful, and walks with an air of hugeness that truly hits you right in the chest. Really, Walter? You're so tiny and gentle, but have no idea that you are a 'small dog.' How could that be?? He had me laughing through our entire session. The little pitter-patter of his feet scurrying ahead of us kept a sensation of excitement present, yet when he jumped up on his favorite foot stool, or lounged with his mom by the pool, he puffed his chest and held his head high. Like he was king of the house. It was beautiful, and the images below are some of my favorites from our session.
